Our Story
Why Southern Marin Agents exists.
Southern Marin Agents was created by people who know Marin the way only locals can.
We grew up here. We know the back roads, the school conversations, the town-by-town differences, the morning fog patterns, the trailheads, the ferry routines, and the little distinctions that make one neighborhood feel completely different from the next. We also know how special Marin is, not just in the Bay Area, but anywhere.
The idea for Southern Marin Agents started while working in tech in San Francisco. As friends began reaching the same stage of life, getting married, starting families, looking for more space, better schools, more nature, and a different pace, Marin kept coming up.
The questions were always the same:
- Tell me more about Marin, why do you love it?
- Which town makes the most sense for starting a family but still staying close to the City?
- Why is everyone moving to Mill Valley and Larkspur, and what’s the difference between the two?
Those conversations made something obvious: people did not just need listings. They needed local guidance.
Buying in Southern Marin is not like buying in most places. Two homes five minutes apart can mean a completely different commute, school pattern, microclimate, neighborhood feel, price profile, and lifestyle. Mill Valley is not Larkspur. Kentfield is not Ross. Tiburon is not Belvedere. Sausalito, Corte Madera, Greenbrae, San Anselmo, and Fairfax each offer something different, and those differences matter.
And the real knowledge is often in the details.
It is knowing that a Saturday morning might mean coffee outside at Equator in Larkspur while cyclists roll down Magnolia. That lunch at Comforts in San Anselmo often means the Chinese Chicken Salad. That Sol Food in Mill Valley is part of the local rhythm. That catching a movie at The Lark still feels like a small-town luxury. That the Corte Madera Creek Path is one of the easiest ways to understand why people fall in love with the area, water, hills, dogs, strollers, bikes, and daily life all moving through the same beautiful corridor.
Those are not just amenities. They are clues to how each town actually lives.
The challenge is that most agent directories do not help buyers understand those differences. They rank agents by advertising spend, lead-buying budgets, or generic online profiles. That is not enough when someone is making one of the biggest decisions of their life.
Southern Marin Agents was built to solve that problem.

Our goal is simple: help families, relocators, and local move-up buyers find the right agent for the right town, and make smarter decisions about where they belong in Marin.
